macOS Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download the Certificate

Click the button below to download the SonicWALL DPI-SSL certificate file.

⬇️ Download SonicWallCertNew.cer
2

Open the Certificate

Double-click the downloaded SonicWallCertNew.cer file. This will open the Keychain Access application.

3

Add to Keychain

A dialog will appear asking which keychain to add the certificate to:

  • Select "System" keychain (recommended for all users)
  • Or select "login" keychain (for current user only)
  • Click "Add"
4

Enter Administrator Password

You will be prompted to enter your macOS administrator password to complete the installation. Enter your password and click "Update Settings" or "Modify Keychain".

5

Trust the Certificate

Open Keychain Access (if it's not already open):

  • Go to Applications → Utilities → Keychain Access
  • Select the "System" or "login" keychain (where you installed the certificate)
  • Find the SonicWALL certificate in the list
  • Double-click the certificate to open its details
6

Set Trust Settings

In the certificate details window:

  • Expand the "Trust" section
  • Change "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust"
  • Close the window
  • Enter your administrator password when prompted
Important: You must set the certificate to "Always Trust" for it to work properly. Without this step, you will continue to see certificate warnings.
7

Restart Your Browser

Close and restart your web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) for the changes to take effect.

✓ Installation Complete!

You should now be able to access DPI-SSL protected sites without certificate warnings.
